What a rollercoaster of a week it has been for our Airdrie Angels family.
As many of you know, last weekend (May 15-17) was supposed to be our 3rd Annual Swing Into Spring Tournament. Our Tournament Director, Blake, alongside our dedicated Tournament Committee, had been working diligently over the last few months to finalize every single detail. We were absolutely thrilled and ready to host 43 teams ranging from U11 to U19 divisions.
Mother Nature, however, had other plans. After much deliberation, and closely following the weather forecast, the unfortunate decision to cancel the tournament was made, and was incredibly heartbreaking for our volunteers, players, and families.
But amidst the disappointment, we witnessed some true community magic.
Standing Tall with the Angels
Before the clouds rolled in, the generous team at Macdonald Zhivov had stepped up as our official MVP Prizing Sponsor. When the tournament was cancelled, they did something truly extraordinary—they told us to keep the donation funds to support our association anyway.
Because of their incredible kindness, those funds will remain right here with the Airdrie Angels.
